Meet the Maker
Hello! My name is Nekeidria Lee. I reside in Tennessee and produce my pieces from my home studio. I’ve been a creative in my youth, participating in many areas of the arts. My love of art began when I was a child watching Bob Ross on PBS! Who could not love Bob Ross!. As I got older I fell in love with architecture. I loved the clean lines Frank Lloyd Wright produced with his visionary designs. He also believed in living harmoniously with nature. Eventually, I became obsessed with painting three years ago when I discovered fluid art. I have always loved abstract art, but was intimidated by the paint medium. Once I observed how colors react and how you experience the freedom and constriction of acrylic paint: I was sold. I wanted to learn techniques for intuitive, geometric, and minimalistic abstraction and finally put on canvas what was in my head. I then developed the confidence to bring the world my own unique method of art called Brainwaves!!
My designs are inspired by the beauty of nature, the amazement of science, as well as the transcendence in music and dreams. With the world in a constant rush-rush, I want to inspire people to slow down, to admire the beauty in what some perceive as chaos and to take a moment to respect the peace in silence. However, I don’t want to be serious all the time, so for some fun, I sometimes include embellishments like rhinestones, glitter, alcohol inks, mica powders and metallic paints to help give paintings depth and dimension.
When you take in my pieces, I want you to be lost in your own imagination. What do YOU see? How do YOU feel? Create your own story.
